WOMAD Shop offers 12 Peter Gabriel Albums in 12-Days Promotion; Uscita Available for Download

The WOMAD shop (which is run by Peter Gabriel's Real World Records), is offering a special promotion starting Christmas day and running for 12-days. Each day, a different Peter Gabriel album will be available as a high quality or Apple lossless digital download for 50% off from his solo debut through Scratch My Back. Please note: This applies to digital downloads only (not CDs or vinyl). They also offer titles by other Real World artists (also of note: these are NOT the reissues or expanded versions of the Gabriel catalog expected for release in 2011).

Also available for download only is Uscita, a special compilation of Peter Gabriel's music hand selected by Peter himself. Back in 2004, as part of the Music Industry Trust Awards, this compilation was given out to people who attended that event. While a pressed CD is not available (unfortunately), you can now get this special compilation via the WOMAD site as a high quality MP3 download or an Apple lossless download. Collector's should note that this compilation includes the hard-to-find 'Broad Mix' of the b-side "Curtains."

5. Peter Gabriel - New Blood concert DVD/live album release (details still unconfirmed)
6. Peter Gabriel - back catalog reissues, including an expanded 25th anniversary version of So (these reissues may include variations of the original album art work - details still largely unconfirmed)

8. Steve Hackett - "Squackett" (working title) project with Chris Squire of the band Yes - 2011
9. Steve Hackett - 2011 European tour

In any case, based upon this early list, it appears that we may have many new pieces of 'product' to look forward to in 2011!

Two Additional Anthony Phillips Compilations Slated For Release In Europe For 2011

Much like the prior budget priced '2 in 1' CD reissues for Anthony Phillips' back catalog in Europe, it has been announced that Phillips' Missing Links Volumes 1 through 3 and Private Parts & Pieces 9 (Dragonfly Dreams) and 10 (Soiree) will be reissued as specially priced collections. As with the majority of these reissues, the albums are not remastered, but its a great way to purchase these albums at a very reasonable price! Both titles are scheduled for release at the end of January. Both collections feature new and/or slightly modified artwork with the Missing Links collection featuring the newer artwork featured on the now out of print Japanese only Disc Union pressings from a few years back and Soiree featuring new artwork completely!
