Enhanced Shopping Section Added To World of Genesis.com

In addition to the shopping features already on this site, I am in the process of dramatically enhancing the Shopping Section. In addition to being able to directly search through Amazon on this site (which you can do now), I have also started including new easy to use links that directly take you to all of the titles by an individual artist in the World of Genesis. To date, new comprehensive sections on Genesis, Tony Banks, Steve Hackett, Mike Rutherford, and Ray Wilson are completed in reverse chronological order. The remaining artists will follow shortly (in the interim, you can still find them by searching in the section yourself). These individual artists' sections will make it much easier to go to one place to find imports, CD singles, CDs (including other artists' projects they appear on), DVDs, and other items. I hope you enjoy this new feature!

Genesis Set To Release Official Biography In September

There have been quite a few books written on the history of Genesis, but never has there been a biography officially endorsed by Genesis - until now. On September 18th, Genesis (through publisher St. Martin's Griffin) will release Chapter and Verse, the first official biography about Genesis' long career which, to date, spans 40 years and counting. The 360-page book features new interviews with all Genesis band members past and present and promises to be the definitive chronicle on the band. Click on the link above to pre-order your copy of the book today! A special audio CD of Chapter Verse will also be released to coincide with the book.

Do You Want Steve Hackett To Play Guitar on Your Next Album? No Problem!

For you musicians out there, Steinberg has just released Twiddly Bits Volume Three: Electric & Acoustic Guitar, an electric and acoustic guitar MIDI download only product featuring Steve Hackett and other renowned guitar players.  The Steve Hackett portion was recorded on MIDI guitar at his house in London back in the 1990s. This collection of material is simply priceless - not just for 'Hacketteers' but anyone looking for cool - and completely flexible - guitar parts to slot into their DAW. Electric & Acoustic Guitar also features regular rock, folk, and country strumming patterns, jazz, and much more. In addition to rock guitar, also noted on this release are also Flamenco guitar and banjo played by Steve! What's more, this third volume in the series has just been completely reformatted so anyone using Cubase 4 or Studio 4 will find it works well with the new "Media Bay" file management system.

Among the sampled tracks on the site are "Sledgehammer", "Red Rain", "Father Son", "Solsbury Hill", "Don't Give Up" and "In Your Eyes".
