Peter Gabriel Catalog To Be Reissued in 2011 in Europe; Update on His Forthcoming New Album and Concert DVD

According to the official Peter Gabriel site, the European pressings of his back catalog will be reissued in 2011. As you may already know, the catalog was reissued in North America just recently (see the Shopping Section on this site for details). These reissues are driven by Peter Gabriel's contractual departure from Universal/Geffen in North America and soon EMI in Europe. Like in North America, the titles are anticipated to be reissued on Peter's own label, Real World. Peter Gabriel shares that the reissue of his classic So album, which contains many of his biggest commercial hit singles, will get a special edition for its 25th anniversary with things like alternate versions or demos. Its also been implied that there may be some changes made to the album art as well for these 2011 reissues. No further information is available about these new reissues at this time.

Peter Gabriel's next album, (tentatively titled) New Blood, is anticipated for release in the spring of 2011 with the video from the 2010 tour due at some point in the future. Check out Gabriel's Full Moon Club for details straight from Peter!

Phil Collins' Going Back Debuts at #34 on the U.S. Billboard Charts

While the new Phil Collins solo album, Going Back, did not debut at #1 as it did in the U.K., the album did respectably well with a chart debut of #34 on the U.S. Billboard album chart. Truth be told, the U.K. release benefited from a pre-order and release that proceeded the North American version and the option of an expanded European CD+DVD (NTSC / Region 0) version of the album not manufactured in North America which certainly helped the U.K. chart position its opening week (due to additional orders from many North American fans).
