Phil Collins Donates Original Artwork For Charity Auction

Leading medical research charity Action Research has 26 baby T-shirts up for grabs, which have all been specially customized by a host of celebrities. High-profile figures have kindly added their signature, doodle, and artistic talents to these one of a kind items. Genesis fans might be interested in bidding on a t-shirt upon which Phil Collins has drawn his beloved drum kit. The t-shirts were unveiled during a recent anniversary launch in Belfast, where they were displayed on a washing line to highlight the fact they are online for auction, between December 20 and mid-day January 11, 2002.

Kindly donated by BHS, all the T-shirts are made to fit babies of either 3-6 months, 6-9 months, or 9-12 months, and have been designed my famous mums, dads, or grandparents, or in some cases their own children. To make a bid for a t-shirt, which could make a special gift, please visit the site: www.actionresearch.co.uk/auction. All the t-shirts are in aid of Action Research’s 50th Anniversary Touching Lives Appeal, which aims to raise £2.5m in 2002 – 50 years after the charity was first founded.

Action Research currently funds more than 160 research projects. A vast proportion of its work focuses on pregnancy, babies and children – including meningitis, premature birth, epilepsy and diabetes. Medical breakthroughs like playing an integral part in the development of Britain’s first polio vaccine and ultrasound scanning in pregnancy are thanks to Action Research.
